Luis Enrique: No Favourites vs Aston Villa

Coach Luis Enrique of Paris Saint Germain (PSG) rejected to admit that his squad was the favourites before Wednesday’s home Champions League quarter-final first leg against Aston Villa.

” Against Liverpool (in the last 16) bookers declared we had no chance. In football, Luis Enrique told reporters on Tuesday, favourites do not exist.

” Eight teams deserve quarter-finals, hence they are in there. We shall have to act as we owe it to ourselves to prevail on the pitch.”

PSG forward Desire Doue concurs with his boss. “If Aston Villa are here, it means they deserve it,” the nineteen-year-old remarked. “I wouldn’t believe it would be wise to discuss a favourite. Aston Villa boasts a really strong team with outstanding players.

Back at the Parc des Princes will be Aston Villa manager Unai Emery, PSG boss from 2016–18.

“He is an outstanding coach,” Luis Enrique remarked. “Aston Villa presents a fantastic team. Unai Emery helped them to advance during the past two years.

“Aston Villa has many adaptable players and resembles us as a team. Who is going to play is unknown, particularly following their winter transfer window when they have improved really nicely. Both teams will have an honest and challenging tie.

Three days after winning their 13th French Ligue 1 championship, Luis Enrikes is sure his team would not lose concentration.

“I think we will keep seeing a great version of PSG, that we will keep playing the same way, with the same intensity or even more,” Luis Enrique said.

Marquinhos, the captain of the French side, will miss the game because to suspension.

“This is our team’s strength, hence it’s not really important. Whatever individual missing, the team is here,” Luis Enriques remarked.
