Luis Diaz Set for Bayern Move

Liverpool turned down Bayern’s first offer of £58.5 million, but the Bundesliga champions have sweetened the deal, and Diaz is also eager to play in Germany. Arne Slot, the head coach of the Reds, chose not to play Diaz in the 4–2 loss against AC Milan on Saturday.

Liverpool didn’t want to sell their best player, but Diaz has decided to join the German champions.

Diaz has become an important part of the team at Anfield since he came over from Porto in January 2022. The past campaign was Diaz’s best at Liverpool. He scored 17 goals in all competitions and was a key part of Liverpool’s title-winning campaign, when they finished 10 points ahead at the top.

At first, Diaz wanted to join Barcelona, and the Catalan club was also interested in him since they wanted him to work with Lamine Yamal and Raphina in attack.

Reports say that Liverpool rejected down Barcelona’s bid of about £65 million for Diaz because they wanted to seek for other options.

This summer, Liverpool spent almost £250 million to sign Florian Wirtz, Hugo Ekitike, Jeremie Frimpong, and Milos Kerkez. If Diaz’s arrangement works out, he will help get part of that money back.

The Reds want Alexander Isak, a striker for Newcastle United, but it would cost a lot.

Darwin Nunez is also thinking about leaving Anfield, but Slot says he missed the AC Milan game because he was hurt.
