Lopetegui Promises West Ham Turnaround

As media reported that the club’s board of directors had convened to consider his future, manager Julen Lopetegui declared on Friday he was committed to turning around struggling West Ham United.

After 14th-placed West Ham lost 3-1 at Leicester City earlier in the week, the board opted to keep Lopetegui until Monday’s Premier League match with Wolverhampton Wanderers, the BBC reported on Thursday.

Lopetegui Promises West Ham Turnaround

“I always work hard and am glad to be at West Ham. Lopetegui, who took charge in May, promised reform.

“I know everything about football and know my major goal and job is to prepare for a tough match.

“But it’s also a major opportunity and task for us at home to get the three points. That matters most.”

West Ham fans chanted “you’re getting sacked in the morning” following their seventh loss in 14 league games at Leicester, leaving them six points above the relegation zone.
