Liga rivals Real Madrid and Barcelona want Liverpool player

According to the latest rumours, Real Madrid and Barcelona are both interested in signing Liverpool wonderkid Stefan Bajcetic. In recent weeks, the 18-year-old has emerged as an important component of Jurgen Klopp’s squad, starting each of Liverpool’s past seven games in all competitions. He was named player of the match in last week’s 2-0 win against Everton, and he made his first Champions League start in the Reds’ 5-2 loss to Real Madrid, becoming the club’s youngest player to do so.

Bajcetic joined the club from Celta Vigo in January 2021, despite legally signing a contract the previous month, and began his career in the youth teams. This season, he was promoted to the first team and had to wait his turn to play regularly for the squad. Bajcetic does not appear to be losing his starting XI spot anytime soon now that he has acquired some consistency in selection.

Klopp, therefore, will be anxious to keep hold of him – but there is reported to be substantial interest in the young Spaniard from two footballing giants. According to Fichajes, Bajcetic’s outstanding performances for Liverpool have piqued the interest of both Barcelona and Real Madrid.

According to reports, both clubs see the 18-year-old as a squad option, with Barcelona seeing him as a potential starter alongside Pedri and Gavi if some of the club’s more experienced players leave. Sergio Busquets, a veteran midfielder, could leave this summer when his contract expires, while Franck Kessie’s long-term future has also been called into question. If Bajcetic moves to the Real side, he may find it more difficult to break into the team.

Despite without Aurelien Tchouameni and, from the start, Toni Kroos against Liverpool, Carlo Ancelotti’s midfield performed admirably, with defensive midfielder Eduardo Camavinga particularly impressive in a more natural position than the left-back one he has been playing this season. The Reds, on the other hand, will be anxious to keep Bajcetic at Anfield in the long term, and Fichajes adds that they are not interested in any offers for the young midfielder.
