Lazio defeated Napoli by a score of 1-0 on Friday thanks to a magnificent goal from long-range scored by Matias Vecino. With the result, the leaders of the Serie A race fell for only the second time in the league all season. Lazio moved into second place after the Uruguayan midfielder scored the game-winning goal with a half-volley shot from 25 yards out in the 67th minute. Despite this victory, Lazio is still 17 points behind Napoli.

Vecino had a golden opportunity to score early on when he flicked a free-kick from Luis Alberto in the direction of the goal, but Napoli captain Giovanni Di Lorenzo was able to divert the ball over the crossbar from underneath his post. Andre-Frank Zambo Napoli, who had won eight consecutive games and 19 of their past 20 in Serie A, saw a shot from distance by Anguissa deflected just over the crossbar. This winning streak for Napoli began with a 2-1 victory away from home against Lazio in September.
The league’s leading scorer, Victor Osimhen, who has 19 goals, sent a strong header off a cross by Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, and Ivan Provedel made a fantastic save to deny Kim Min-shot jane’s on the rebound. Ivan Provedel is the best scorer in the league. Lazio moved above both Milan clubs thanks to their third consecutive victory, which was contributed by Sergej Milinkovic-late Savic’s free shot that came dangerously close to hitting the crossbar. This is just the fourth occasion out of 25 Serie A matches that Napoli has been defeated without winning. Even though they still have to play Atalanta, AC Milan, Juventus, and Inter Milan, they are still considered to be the overwhelming favourites to win the title, which would be their first since 1990.
