Jurgen Klopp has made it clear that he wants to improve the Merseysiders’ middle. With the signing of Mac Allister, the busy summer is about to begin. And while the deal was first said to be worth around £60 million, Liverpool will pay a lot less for the Brighton star who is leaving.

Ben Jacobs, a trade expert, says that Liverpool will pay Brighton an initial £45 million for the World Cup winner, who is 24 years old. A clause helps make the move possible by giving Brighton an extra £5 million in bonuses and extras.

His father and lawyer came to Merseyside on Monday night for talks that took place today. A deal for £150,000 a week over five years will be finalized in the next few days.

That deal depends on a physical exam, which will happen in the next 48 hours. But if everything goes well, the transfer will be done by the end of the week, and a statement will probably be made before the weekend.

Then, Mac Allister will meet up with the rest of his Argentina team for two matches against other countries. Next week, they will first play Australia in Beijing, and then they will play Indonesia in Jakarta.

The playmaker, who scored 12 goals for Brighton this season, will then go on vacation until July 8, when he will rejoin his team.

As of now, Liverpool’s first summer friendly will be on July 30 in Singapore against Leicester. They also play Bayern Munich in the Far East, which could be Mac Allister’s first game.

During the talks, Mac Allister’s shirt number at Liverpool will be brought up. Reports say that the star will choose between No. 8 and No. 10 on the shirt.

The No. 8 shirt is well-known on Merseyside because Steven Gerrard made it so. Naby Keita left it not too long ago.

Sadio Mane moved to Bayern Munich last summer, so the No. 10 shirt has been empty for the past year. And since he only wore that shirt during his three years at Brighton, it seems like the more likely choice.

The Times, on the other hand, says that Mac Allister turned down a last-minute offer from Manchester United to move to their team instead of Liverpool.
