The Spanish league LaLiga has revealed that it will change its name and start working with Electronic Arts on a five-season deal that it says will change the industry.

“This transformation includes a major brand evolution, touching strategy and positioning, but also extends to tangible changes in LALIGA’s audiovisual broadcasting and digital ecosystem,” LaLiga added. As a direct result of the sponsorship, LaLiga’s top division will now be known as LaLiga EA Sports, and LaLiga’s second division will be called LaLiga Hypermotion.

In order to use LaLiga’s trademarks in its video games, EA Sports has been working with the organization for the past decade. The new relationship will help promote EA Sports FC, the video game developer’s next big thing after the FIFA franchise, and it will also help bring cutting-edge technology and exciting new content to LaLiga fans.
