Julian Araujo to consider offer from newly-promoted La Liga club

Julian Araujo, a young player for FC Barcelona, is seriously considering the chance to go on loan to the newly promoted club UD Las Palmas this summer. Last week, there were rumors that Las Palmas wanted to loan the 21-year-old to them for the upcoming season and that a deal might be nearly done. But later stories said that wasn’t true and that Araujo was eager to show manager Xavi Hernandez at Barcelona why he should stay at the club during the preseason.

Araujo might have changed his mind because he isn’t expected to play much in the next season. Apart from the Mexican international, Barca’s other right-back choices are Jules Kounde, Sergi Roberto, and Sergino Dest. But it should be said that Dest could be sold if the right offer came along.

Even so, the La Liga winners want to bring in a new right back. Joao Cancelo, Pablo Maffeo, and Ivan Fresneda are all possible targets. So, if Araujo stays at the club, the 21-year-old is expected to be at the bottom of the list since he has never played in Europe. So the best thing for the young right-back to do would be to go somewhere else on loan. And Las Palmas could end up getting Araujo.

He joined Barcelona in January but hasn’t played for the team yet because FIFA took too long to approve his move. The Mexican international could do well at Las Palmas, where former Barca Athletic boss Garcia Pimienta will coach him. In the long run, it would also be good for Blaugrana if he gets regular playing time and some much-needed experience.
