Javier Tebas, the president of La Liga, has stated that Sergio Busquets left the team because the Catalans wanted Lionel Messi to come back to Camp Nou. He said that the football legend’s exit has opened the door for Messi to come back, but he said the club still needs to do more work to make sure that the 7-time Ballon d’Or winner does come back.

It’s no secret that Barcelona wants to bring back their legend, and reports say that Messi is ready to come back as well, since his deal with PSG ends in the summer. Tebas revealed to the media on Thursday that Messi could come back to Barcelona if the Catalan club makes more changes.

He was quoted by El Partidazo de COPE saying: “Busquets’ departure is the beginning of the road for Messi’s return, but to reach the end, Barça still have to walk many meters. I’m not the one to give them the green light, it will be the economic control.”

Following their failure to win the Champions League despite having the likes of Lionel Messi and Neymar at the club, fans of PSG have declared that they are no longer comfortable with the presence of the superstars and want them to leave the club this summer.
