Is Yeremy Pino joining Crystal Palace?

International media reported on Wednesday that Crystal Palace, an English football club, had agreed to pay Villarreal £26 million for Spanish winger Yeremy Pino.

The news says that a 22-year-old will be moving to Selhurst Park in a few days to have a medical. Villarreal has decided to accept Palace’s offer even though Pino has a £69 million release clause because his contract is less than two years old.

The Eagles are going after Pino now that England forward Eberechi Eze has moved to Arsenal for £60 million.

Eze, who is 27 years old, was Palace’s good luck charm last season. He scored 14 goals and assisted 11 others in 43 games, helping the team win the FA Cup, their first major title. After Palace and Nottingham Forest played to a 1-1 tie this weekend, Oliver Glasner, the manager of The Eagles, said he wanted to add fresh players before the deadline.

This summer, only two players have joined the team. Walter Benitez came to the team for free from PSV Eindhoven, while defender Borna Sosa paid £3 million to get from Ajax. Palace has also gone after Manuel Akanji, a 30-year-old Swiss defender for Manchester City who is worth £15 million.

Pino, a winger, joined Villareal in 2017 after passing through Las Palmas’ youth system. He made his full league debut in 2020 and scored four goals in 34 league games to help Villarreal finish fifth and win a spot in the Champions League last season.

Pino has played for Spain 15 times since his first game in 2021 and scored three goals.
