Tuesday’s international news revealed that Joao Pedro said it was simpler for him to get used to Chelsea after spending a long time in one league. In June, Pedro transferred from Brighton & Hove Albion to Chelsea for £60 million.
He played his first game in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup and wowed everyone by scoring both goals in a 2-0 win against his old club Fluminense in the semifinals. Then he helped his team win the championship with a 3-0 win over Paris Saint-Germain in the finals.
Pedro said in an interview that he was in touch with his Brazilian teammate Andrey Santos, who also plays for Chelsea, all the time and obtained all the information he needed about the club.
“Meeting everyone was a great time. Miami was a lot like Brazil, which made it easier for me to adjust. I had been messaging Andrey Santos on Instagram to ask about the team and the club, and he said very nice things. Pedro said, “I’m glad I joined.”

Joao Pedro also said that it’s easier to fit in with a new team if you come from a club that plays in the same division.
“Players find it easier to adjust when they stay in the same league for a long time.” Pedro said, “For example, it’s easier for me to move from my old club to Chelsea because they’re in the same league, but the players are different.”
“I think it will be good once I start practicing with my new teammates.” It will be easy for me because I already play in the league.
