How Arsenal vs Brighton Win Fueled Controversy?

The Arsenal vs Brighton soccer match was one of the most controversial matches of the week in the premier league when Arsenal won in a tight match and solidified their status in the top position in the table. This victory was achieved by a goal at a tender age by Bukayo Saka and a strong defensive work by the side of Mikel Arteta.

Arsenal began the match with a lot of vigor. The single goal of the match came on the ninth minute when Bukayo Saka volleyed the ball past the Brighton goalkeeper. The initial move helped Arsenal to gain a considerable advantage and manage the speed of the game during the rest of the game.

Once they were in the lead, the Gunners became preoccupied with organization on the defensive side. There was also discipline in the team at the back and they had their 14th clean sheet of the season. In the second half, Brighton tried to attack but did not get any free opportunities because of the defensive system in place in Arsenal.

The match was controversial even though its outcome was a loss. The Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya had to be attended to three times in the course of the match. All breaks gave Arsenal players time to rest in the field.

The situation was also openly criticized by Brighton head coach Fabian Hurzeler following the match. He indicated that Arsenal were intentionally holding back the game. Hurzeler stated that the multiple interruptions of injuries seemed to be strategic and not accidental.

Arsenal players justified their performance stating that the victory had been a result of a hard work. Bukayo Saka himself described the win as ugly because he admitted the team had to scrape three points as opposed to dominating the game.
