Harry Kane’s Preference: Messi over Ronaldo

In a very interesting twist of the conversation, Harry Kane said he would rather play with Lionel Messi than Cristiano Ronaldo.

At 31, Kane now faces the possibility of cementing his legacy as one of the deadliest strikers of his generation-a stunning haul of 357 goals in 560 club appearances for some top clubs like Hotspur, Millwall, Leicester City, and Bayern Munich.

On the international front, Kane proudly holds the record as England’s all-time leading goalscorer, having netted 68 goals in 101 appearances for the Three Lions.

He has, within his glittering career thus far, shared the pitch with some of football’s luminaries like Wayne Rooney, Gareth Bale, Manuel Neuer, and Thomas Muller.

On the other hand, asked with whom he would have liked to partner, the England captain rightly pointed his fingers towards Argentine maestro and Inter Miami icon Lionel Messi.

“When I think about what they have achieved, I see that they are as brilliant in their 30s as they were in their 20s,” Kane said. “As I just hit 30, it invigorates me knowing that if I maintain my physical fitness and keep the right mindset, I could sustain a career at the highest level for as long as I desire.” Kane added, “Those players have set an extraordinarily high standard along with a few others. It serves as motivation and reassures me that it’s feasible to continue competing at a top-tier level.”

Indeed, watching such legends at the top is remarkable, as Kane himself admits, “They are two of the greatest to ever grace the sport.”

Messi’s quality has separated Inter Miami so far, and they’re fighting to win in Major League Soccer. In contrast, Ronaldo has been doing his thing in the Saudi Arabia Professional League, scoring multiple times since he bid adieu to European football at the end of 2023.
