Guardiola believes Man City can do ‘very nice things’ despite dip

Despite their five-game losing streak, Pep Guardiola claimed Monday that Manchester City may still do “very good things” this season. Guardiola remains optimistic as City face Feyenoord in the Champions League on Tuesday, seeking their first win since late October.

“I have the feeling that this season we will do very good things,” he said at the pregame press conference. “I don’t give up and I have the feeling we will be there.”

“You are defending a legacy, a tradition, a success that is so difficult to handle,” he said.

“I relax because of that. Not doing it means not doing it. Just focus in the near term and win the upcoming games.

“So, what I want is a commitment.”

City are eight points behind Liverpool in the Premier League title chase and travel to Anfield next weekend. After two victories, a draw, and a loss in their first four matches, they are 10th in the Champions League and out of the League Cup.

Guardiola refused to change his techniques, which have won four Premier League titles and the Champions League in 2023. Players in specific departments should be more focused. We must do what? “said.

Step by step, we return. This too shall pass. Life is that. Thoughts of perfection are wrong. Rain is forecast for tomorrow. It’s life.”

He said: “Now, winning a game on desire is more vital than strategies.

“You look at December and at the end of the season, whether you need to change things and be more solid, but these guys will do very, very good things.”

The Guardiola injury list includes midfield midfielder Kevin De Bruyne, who was out for weeks after a mid-September strain. After returning to play earlier this month, the Belgian has made three substitute appearances and claimed seeing the team struggle has been painful.

“I can help the team but you can only do so much from the side,” remarked.

“It’s frustrating because I know if I was feeling good I could help the team but I wasn’t able to do that.”

De Bruyne, 33, said the team wanted to win again quickly. It’s been hectic. So many folks in medicine and sports science make you wonder who’s playing and who’s not ” he remarked.

“There were people who shouldn’t be playing but they did anyway with injuries.”
