Gillani Meets La Liga’s Head of Football Department

Sources close to the situation say that Mohsen Gillani, president of the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF), met with Juan Florit Zapata, head of La Liga’s football department, to talk about ways to improve football in the country.

The conference in Spain was mostly about bringing Pakistan’s domestic football league back to life, and La Liga is anticipated to be a big part of making that happen. There were also talks about how to help youth teams grow, provide women more chances to play football, and set up mentoring programs for local coaches.

One insider told the Geo on the condition of anonymity that “talks were very productive and focused on long-term cooperation.”

“LaLiga is very interested in Pakistan and has said it wants to start a big project here soon.”

The Pakistan Football League’s return has been a long-standing request from people in the country, as the sport has trouble with a lack of organisation and exposure to other countries.

PFF executives think that La Liga’s participation might help make domestic competitions more professional, improve technical skills, and make them more visible.

The sources also said that La Liga’s possible relationship with PFF may lead to more opportunities for coaches and officials to improve their skills, find new talent, and help the sport grow from the bottom up.

The individual who knew about the conversations stated, “This isn’t just about one project; it’s about making football in Pakistan a long-lasting system.”

La Liga, one of the most famous football leagues in the world, has worked with a number of federations in Asia and Africa in the past to improve programs at the grassroots level.

Its involvement in Pakistan would enable the country take a big step towards its goal of rejoining the global football community.
