Ex-Juventus Star Warns of ‘Too Much Power’ Given to Giuntoli

Former Juventus winger Massimo Mauro believes Cristiano Giuntoli has had “too much power,” but he learns from Thiago Motta’s sacking: the club’s past has to be “respected.” On Sunday Juventus dismissed Motta and signed Igor Tudor for the last nine games of the season.

Over €200m in fresh signings over the past two transfer seasons, Juventus spent; however, the Bianconeri find themselves fifth in the Serie A table and already out of Coppa Italia and Champions League.

“I preserved Giuntoli and Motta’s summer idea of trying to win with a different playing style, but the execution was a complete failure,” former Juventus winger Mauro told Gazzetta.

“The lesson is that history of Juventus has to be honoured.” Sarri took home the Scudetto and was let go after one year; Pirlo was sacked even though he finished fourth and claimed Coppa Italia and Supercoppa. Thiago hasn’t even completed the season thus far.
