The 32-year-old, who recently revealed that his relationship with manager Carlo Ancelotti had soured, has played no part in Los Blancos’ season thus far. In truth, Hazard’s time in Madrid has been largely disappointing since his £88.5 million move from Chelsea.

In addition to producing four chances in the La Liga match, he assisted Lucas Vazquez during the 28-minute runout. Karim Benzema stole the show with a seven-minute hat-trick. Still, Hazard’s performance delighted many, including Carlo Ancelotti, who hinted that the player would be given more first-team minutes.
