The Premier League team Manchester City stated on Tuesday that Gianluigi Donnarumma has signed a five-year deal with them after Ederson Santana de Moraes left.
The club hasn’t said how much they spent, but British media say they paid 30 million pounds ($40.5 million) for Donnarumma. The 26-year-old Italian goaltender will stay at the Etihad Stadium until the summer of 2030, thanks to a five-year deal.
Donnarumma was voted Player of the Tournament, and his performance in a dramatic penalty shootout helped Italy beat England 3-2 on penalties at Wembley to win EURO 2020.
Donnarumma said he was proud to join Manchester City and appreciated Pep Guardiola’s leadership. Donnarumma said, “Signing with Manchester City is such a special and proud moment for me.”

He also said that he is proud to be on the squad and will do whatever he can to help it keep doing well.
Donnarumma said, “I’ve been a fan of Manchester City for a long time, so being able to play for the Club is a huge honor and privilege.”
“I can’t wait to meet the staff, my new teammates, and the fans.” It will be very, very special for me to play at the Etihad Stadium.
“I’m very excited about what’s to come, and I promise to do everything I can to help the Club be even more successful.”
