Did Son Heung-min Score His First MLS Goal?

On Saturday, Son Heung-min and Thomas Muller, who used to play for Bayern Munich, each scored their first goals in Major League Soccer.

Son, who used to be the captain of Tottenham Hotspur, scored his first MLS goal with an amazing free kick just six minutes into his second appearance for Los Angeles FC.

The 33-year-old South Korean player moved to LAFC earlier this month for a record-breaking fee of more than £20 million. He had been in the Premier League for eleven years. Son scored the first goal, but LAFC and FC Dallas ended up with a 1-1 stalemate.

After the game, Son said he was thrilled to start MLS with a goal, but he was sad that his main goal was to gain three points for the club. He said that getting to know the team would take time, but he still liked the game.

“I’m happy I scored my first goal in the MLS and for LAFC. But the most essential thing for me is to obtain three points. Son remarked, “I’m very, very upset about that.”

“I still need a lot of time to get to know the team.” It’s been two weeks, maybe a little more, and I’m loving every second of it.

Muller scored a goal in stoppage time to give the Vancouver Whitecaps a late drama.

“It felt amazing to score the last goal in front of our fans here,” Muller remarked.

Both stars are already making a difference, and their arrival marks the start of a new era for Major League Soccer’s popularity around the world.
