Did Laporta Block Messi Barcelona Return?

The announcement of Messi Barcelona back has become a big issue once more as the presidential election of Barcelona is near. Challenger Victor Font has urged Lionel Messi to come out and speak on rumors that Lionel would not have been allowed to get back to the club, in 2023, by the club president Joan Laporta.

The matter has been noticed amidst some stern remarks by former Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez. Xavi, Laporta himself halted the move, according to him, because he was afraid of losing power within the club in case Messi came back.

Victor Font who is costing Laporta in the coming election feels that there should be clarity among members of Barcelona. Socios of the club will vote on Sunday in order to choose the next president. According to Font, the voice of Messi could make members realize what actually took place behind the scenes.

In his interview with the reporters, Font added that he does not think Messi will say anything before the vote. Nevertheless, he wishes the Argentine legend to come out and tell the truth about the situation.

Font also indicated that hope on the existing team and coach Hansi Flick would not encourage the members to lose focus on critical matters about the management of the club.

The attachment of Messi towards Barcelona is still very emotional to the fans. The Argentine spent almost 24 years in the club having joined La Masia at the age of a teenager. This was between 2003 and 2021 when he transformed into a great player in Barcelona and one of the most successful footballers of all time.
