Did Chelsea Dominate West Ham in the Premier League?

Friday’s 5-1 Premier League win over West Ham United at London Stadium showed Chelsea’s attacking depth and new signings’ quick impact.

Palmer’s warm-up muscle pain forced him to miss the game, hurting Chelsea’s preparations. His teammates promptly dismissed any fears, guaranteeing that his absence did not impair the team’s confidence or game plan.

Chelsea responded strongly after conceding early. Five players scored in an hour, grabbing the league lead after two games. Joao Pedro began the score for Chelsea in the 15th minute, giving the visitors an early lead. New acquisition Pedro Neto and captain Enzo Fernandez made it 3-1.

After the break, academy graduate Trevoh Chalobah and Moises Caicedo, celebrating his 100th club appearance, scored two more corner goals to put the contest beyond West Ham.

Without Palmer, 18-year-old Brazilian winger Estevao made his starting debut. He contributed an assist and was named Man of the Match after his excellent effort.

Former England midfielder Jamie Redknapp praised Chelsea’s performance, saying,

“Any Chelsea player might have been Man of the Match after losing Palmer and falling behind 1-0. They kept their cool, and their talent makes them a formidable club for this season.”

West Ham and Chelsea will play again on 31 January 2026.
