Cristiano Ronaldo to retire or not?

Cristiano Ronaldo turned 40 on Wednesday without slowing down his stunning career. The Portugal captain scored twice in Al Nassr’s 4-0 Asian Champions League win over Al Wasl on Monday, bringing his total to 923. He won his 700th club game. Ronaldo is considered a greatest player. He believes he has little competition for the championship.

“I honestly haven’t seen anyone better than me,” AL Nassr forward told El Chiringuito TV. “No player has been more complete than me. In football, I do everything.”

His tenure and accomplishments make him a unique athlete. Ronaldo, who joined Sporting CP in 2002 and joined Manchester United a year later, has won 33 senior titles. He won five Champions League titles, four at Real Madrid in nine years.

“I’m so competitive that many times I forget what I’ve achieved as it gives me motivation to do more and be better every year,” he remarked. “I think that distinguishes those. Someone in my position would have quit football 10 years ago. Maintaining my passion. I differ.”

Ronaldo, who has five Ballon d’Ors and two FIFA the Best honors, stated he won’t retire.

“I could honestly end my career now and I wouldn’t have any regrets,” stated. It would be a shame because I’m still healthy and make a difference. I can make a difference for another year or two.”

Ronaldo may achieve 1000 career goals.

“It would be great, but if it doesn’t come, I’m already the player in history with the most goals,” he remarked. “To score goals is the best sensation in the world and the most difficult thing in football.”

Ronaldo led Portugal to Euro 2016 and the inaugural UEFA Nations League three years later. With 135 international goals and 217 appearances, he owns the global record for most appearances.

Only Ronaldo has played in six European Championships. With 14 goals, he holds the competition record. His influence extends beyond football.
