Chloe Kelly Left Out of England Squad

After the Arsenal loanee was omitted from the most recent Lionesses team to face Portugal and Spain, England boss Sarina Wiegman insists Chloe Kelly’s dreams of participating at Euro 2025 are not dashed.

Since England’s final international games in November, the 27-year-old has only spent 117 minutes of football for Manchester City. She sealed a surprise loan move to WSL rivals Arsenal on Deadline Day, after aiming a parting shot about being frozen out by her parent club. Kelly only spent 15 minutes from the bench in England’s 0-0 friendly tie with the USA during the last round of internationals and Wiegman clarified that her lack of club football caused her absence.

The team is involved in intense competition. Lotte Wubben-Moy, who came in to cover injuries during those November games, is called up from the off among the 24-player squad; Ella Toone returns from injury and is in great form for Manchester United, with six goals since her recovery.

Having scored six goals in her past eight games in all competitions for Brighton, Nikita Parris is awarded a first call-up in more than two years following her own purple patch.
