Chelsea uncovered as dream destination for Bundesliga midfielder
The ownership group led by Todd Boehly has shown Chelsea a great deal of ambition in the player transfer market. The club has spent more money than any other team with an outlay of more than £550 million to acquire a large number of new players during the course of the previous summer as well as the month of January. It is possible that in the future they may need to exercise increased caution and patience; however, this will not prevent them from searching for further skills that they can incorporate into their system. Kouadio Kone, a midfielder for Borussia Monchengladbach, was apparently one of the players they had their sights set on during the transfer window in January; however, they were unable to acquire his services.
The Frenchman, who also goes by the name Manu Kone, has appeared 21 times in the Bundesliga so far this year and has scored once. His second season in Germany has been marked by a period of increased consistency all around. But, it looks like Kone’s price tag is going down. According to a report that was published not too long ago in Bild, Borussia Monchengladbach initially demanded €45 million (£39.9 million) for his move but would now settle for something closer to €30 million (£26.6 million). And if Chelsea continues to show interest, we should expect them to keep a close eye on the situation. After all, the young man, who is now 21 years old, has specifically mentioned the Blues as one of the clubs that he has been enthusiastic about from a very early age.
