Chelsea Premier League Comeback Stuns West Ham

In another dramatic 3-2 victory over West Ham United at Stamford Bridge on Saturday night, Chelsea Premier League comeback went out. The Blues turned the two-goal gap and earned three crucial points to retain its position in the fourth position in the league table.

This game started off poorly with Chelsea. A number of regular starters had not been playing on the bench following a hectic schedule. The tardy beginning was in its early grave as West Ham came in desperate need of points towards the lower end of the table.

West Ham led in the 7 th minute. Jarrod Bowen put in a teasing cross which flew to the far right hand corner. The visitors continued to attack just two minutes later. Aaron Wan-Bissaka saved the ball back and Crysencio Summerville shot it away in a relaxed manner to put it at 2-0.

The home crowd grew restless. Before the break, Chelsea was unable to vary the tempo and was not intense. But the half time reaction made an entirely new outlook to the game.

At interval, Manager Liam Rosenior effected three replacements. The reform was vibrant and pressing. Chelsea drove further up the field and started having control.

The 57 th minute marked the beginning of the comeback. Joao Pedro jumped very high to come home after a broad delivery. The objective lifted the stadium and made the whole momentum of the game swing in favour of Chelsea.

West Ham attempted to play deep, but the pressure continued to mount. Marc Cucurella equalised in the 70 th minute. His attempt hit the crossbar and returned across the line leaving the goalkeeper powerless.

As West Ham had the hard time coping, Chelsea pressed on because they were not able to adequately respond. The visitors got an opportunity to take the lead in the end, but Jean-Clair Todibo failed to miss an easy chance in the box.

That miss proved costly. Chelsea finished with the turnaround in the stoppage time. Joao Pedro gave a pass into the space and Enzo Fernandez ran at the right moment. Argentina midfielder scored definitively to make the victory.
