Chelsea Declared ‘Best Team in Premier League’

Chelsea are “maybe the best team in the Premier League right now”, claims Brentford boss Thomas Frank.

Before playing Frank’s Brentford at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, Enzo Maresca, who succeeded Mauricio Pochettino in June, has led Chelsea to six straight wins in all competitions. Chelsea is second in the league after four straight wins, four points behind Liverpool.

“They are maybe even more in-form than Liverpool, even though they are top of the league,” he remarked.

“They play great football and are well-coached. Thus far, Maresca’s coaching staff has been excellent and dangerous.”

Premier League leaders Chelsea won 3-1 over Astana in the Europa Conference League on Thursday after a 4-3 win at Tottenham. Maresca’s team has scored 15 goals in their last four games in all competitions.

Brentford is ninth after overcoming Newcastle 4-2 last weekend. The Bees have been strong at home this season, but they have only one point from 21 away. Their three Premier League wins at Stamford Bridge are encouraging.

“Chelsea has multiple forward threats and top-notch players everywhere. Frank predicted an extremely difficult game.

“They are massive favourites but, of course, we believe that we can compete against anyone and we believe we can win.”
