Charlotte FC beat Inter Miami 3-0

Charlotte FC beat Inter Miami 3-0 on Saturday night at the Bank of America Stadium. Idan Toklomati scored his first hat trick in Major League Soccer (MLS), while Lionel Messi missed a penalty. Charlotte won their tenth straight MLS game. Toklomati added to his season total of 11 goals.

Kristijan Kahlina, the reigning MLS Goalkeeper of the Year, was great for Charlotte. He made five key saves, including one that stopped Messi’s penalty kick in the 32nd minute while the score was still 0-0.

Instead of kicking the ball hard to one side, Messi kicked it softly toward the middle of the goal. The goalie reached out a hand while standing tall to stop the Argentina captain.

Miami head coach Javier Mascherano, on the other hand, defended his star player by arguing that the penalty should not be blamed for the loss.

Miami head coach Maschaerno said, “I don’t think we can be unfair about the penalty, blame it, or hold on to it.”

“It’s a game situation.” It’s clear that Leo has been the one who has helped us win all season.

Kerwin Vargas made a fantastic low cross to Toklomati, who scored Charlotte’s first goal of the game two minutes after Messi missed a penalty.

Wilfried Zaha then set up Toklomati to double the lead in the 47th minute.

In the 79th minute, Miami’s Tomas Aviles was sent off for a second booking for trying to slow down Toklomati. This left Miami with only 10 players.

Zaha got a penalty after being tripped in the Miami box, which gave Toklomati a chance to score his first hat trick in the 84th minute.
