Carragher Doubts Arsenal Attack Quality

Carragher is pessimistic about the quality of attack of Arsenal, and his evaluation might be a bitter pill to swallow by the Arsenal fans who dream of winning the Premier League. Jamie Carragher, a legendary of Liverpool feels that the biggest challenge facing Arsenal this season is not mentality but absence of cutting edge in attack.

Carragher was categorical in his opinion in The Overlap. He gave accolades to the attitude and sustainability of Arsenal. Nevertheless, he doubted whether the elite nature of their attacking unit can achieve the league victory. It is his view that such difference usually determines championships.

Carragher pointed out Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard as players who at one point had appeared to be destined superstars in matches. Although he can not in any way discount them, he confessed that they have in recent times failed to impress him when it comes to critical situations.

The problem of Arsenal according to Carragher is at the third third. He believes that they do not have a strong leader among the front four or five players. A person that can always make independent choices in games. It, he says, is what makes title winners and strong contenders different.

Interestingly, Carragher further argued that this might be the case this season as Arsenal might in fact, have the best overall team in the league although before Manchester City. But the balance and structure, he feels, are there notwithstanding, quality in attack which is in favour of City.

In a broader sense, the remarks of Carragher are not an unfamiliar theme in the Premier League. Strategy and attitude are important. Nonetheless, elite attackers are title winners. Arsenal possess domination, authority and confidence. It is the brutal advantage, which they might be short of.

Unless the Arsenal is able to turn dominance into goals, the warning warned by Carragher might be true. The championship is usually reduced to moments.
