Brazil coach Tite reveals he’ll depart after the quarterfinals
As a result of Brazil’s penalty shootout loss to Croatia in the World Cup quarterfinals, head coach Tite has announced his resignation.
Before the event, the 61-year-old announced that he would resign regardless of Brazil’s performance. He took over in 2016 and led his team to a 2019 Copa America title, but in both of his World Cup appearances, he was knocked out in the round of 16.
“It is very difficult,” said Tite.
“The cycle ended and I said that one and a half years ago. I needed to have the full cycle and now I have the full cycle and have followed the moments.”
