According to Cadena SER, the ban stems from an incident in 2019 during a match against Tenerife in which Getafe supporters threw objects from the stands. The Supreme Court has determined that Getafe’s fans are to be banned from attending next week’s game against Barcelona as a result of the incident.
The last time Barcelona visited Getafe, in April, they played to a scoreless tie. Xavi’s infamous postgame gripes about the contest are also well-known. The field, the kickoff time, and the weather all drew criticism from Barcelona’s manager after his team played to a dull 0-0 tie at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez.
