Barcelona confident of a Champions League breakthrough next season

FC Barcelona had a remarkable season because they won La Liga for the first time since 2018-19. They did this with four games and a significant lead over Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid. The Blaugrana also won the Spanish Super Cup in the first season, club star Xavi Hernandez was manager. In the finals, the Blaugrana beat Real Madrid by a large margin. Barcelona has had a great season, but their run in Europe is the only thing that hasn’t gone well.

Barcelona is confident of a Champions League breakthrough next season

The Catalan giants were kicked out of the UEFA Champions League in the group stages for the second year. And, unlike last season, they lost to Manchester United in the knockout rounds of the UEFA Europa League. Barcelona wants to fix this problem next season, and Alex Pintanel now says that people inside the club are sure the team will make an “important leap” in the Champions League next year.

Before the 2023–2024 season, the club says, “We will build a great team.” On this front, work is already being done to sign some big names, starting with Lionel Messi, a club legend who was once the leader. This summer, the Argentine will be a free agent and could go back to Barcelona. The club is waiting for La Liga to approve their plan to stabilise the club financially. Ilkay Gundogan of Manchester City is another player Barca wants for next season.

However, Arsenal and Manchester City are also interested in the German international, so Barca must work hard to get him. Adding players of this level and knowledge to this Barcelona team would make them better and help them do better in the biggest football tournament in Europe.
