Atletico Madrid is interested in signing ‘one of Ligue 1’s best left-backs. Even though the January transfer window has not yet closed, Atletico Madrid has already identified RC Lens left-back Deiver Machado as a potential summer transfer target. According to AS, Los Rojiblancos have been keeping a close eye on the 29-year-old defender and are interested in signing him. Machado joined Lens in 2021’s summer and has since developed into a key player for the Ligue 1 team.

The Colombian star has excelled in the current season, helping Lens climb to second place in the French premier division. This season, Machado has made 17 appearances in all competitions, scoring and assisting on one goal each. The 29-year-old wing-back for Lens has demonstrated both offensive and defensive prowess and is currently considered one of the greatest left-backs in Ligue 1.
In addition, Atletico Madrid is interested in acquiring the services of the Colombian international. In the summer, the Colchoneros parted company with Renan Lodi, allowing him to join Nottingham Forest on loan. While they did get Sergio Reguilon from Tottenham on loan, the former Real Madrid player has suffered from injuries and may return to England in the summer. Atletico Madrid will likely have to acquire a new left-sided fullback during the summer transfer window due to this and Yannick Carrasco’s ties to Barcelona.
