Arsenal comeback of injured Tomiyasu Arteta admits

On Sunday, manager Mikel Arteta said that Japan international defender Takehiro Tomiyasu will miss weeks with a knee injury. Tomiyasu, 25, missed Arsenal’s pre-season tour in the U.S. and Sunday’s 2-0 triumph over Lyon in London due to injury. “I think it will take weeks on that one unfortunately,” Arteta told reporters of Tomiyasu’s injury. “He’s going to have to be patient and work through it because I think it’s going to take a few weeks.”

Dutch defender Jurrien Timber, who missed most of last season after surgery to repair an anterior cruciate ligament rupture, missed Sunday’s game with a knee ailment but is likely to return next week, Arteta said. Arsenal, last season’s runners-up, play Wolverhampton Wanderers at home on Saturday in the Premier League.
