Andrea Radrizzani, the owner of Leeds United, appears to have confirmed that Michael Skubala will remain in command for this weekend’s match against Manchester United. The Whites’ owner stated that the search for a new permanent manager would continue next week, giving Skubala a second chance to overcome Erik ten Hag’s side on Sunday.
Andrea Radrizzani updates Leeds United’s next manager announcement
All of this arises from the club’s decision to part ways with American manager Jesse Marsch on Monday afternoon following their 1-0 loss to Nottingham Forest, which dropped them to 17th in the Premier League rankings.
Conor McGilligan, formerly of Leeds Live and our sister publication, revealed the quick chat on social media, asking the Leeds owner: “Manager before the weekend, Andrea?” Radrizzani’s reaction was brief and to the point: “After the weekend.”
That would indicate that the Whites are not close to finding a replacement for Marsch, as attempts to sign both West Brom’s Carlos Corberan and Rayo Vallecano’s Andoni Iraola look to have failed.
