Amir Compares Kohli to Ronaldo & Messi

Former Pakistan pacer Mohammad Amir has praised Indian batting master Virat Kohli, noting his commitment and work ethic in line with football stars Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

Amir underlined on Thursday, speaking with an Indian journalist in Lahore, how Kohli is a role model beyond only his on-field performance because of his dedication to fitness, discipline, and general lifestyle.

“Why do people find Ronaldo appealing? Why do they find Messi appealing? Regarding Ronaldo, particularly, consider his way of life. See his work ethic and degree of fitness. He is all the package. Likewise, Amir remarked, Virat Kohli is a complete package.

The former left-arm quick underlined that respect for sportsmen like Kohli cuts across boundaries and noted that the Indian batter has a big fan base even in Pakistan.

“Why is he, even in Pakistan, a role model for so many? It makes no difference the nation. Whether he is from Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, or England—a role model can be from anywhere—he said.

Later on, Mohammad Amir said that every young batter should look up to Kohli as a model since he is the best hitter of this generation.

Virat Kohli is inspirational for this generation. All those young people aspiring to be batters or cricketers should emulate Virat Kohli, he said. Amir also said he was not surprised to find Kohli showed up for training a full ninety minutes before the rest of the team before of the high-voltage India-Pakistan ICC Champions Trophy 2025 collision.

“Virat Kohli is a player whose age is irrelevant. Amir remarked, his work ethic remains constant regardless of his form.

On the eve of the India vs. Pakistan game, he arrived ninety minutes before training. Virat Kohli has led the best life. He might spend two or more years playing international cricket, but his work ethic remains first-rate. He came to the conclusion without doubting his competence or work ethics.
