Al-Nassr Fumes Over Messi Taunt

Al-Nassr was outraged when a supporter ridiculed Cristiano Ronaldo with a Lionel Messi celebration posture in the locker room. The Saudi Pro League club denounced the actions and promised internal resolution.

Known for its hospitality, Al-Nassr lets spectators visit their changing room when the team isn’t playing. Ronaldo and Sadio Mane’s personal spaces are open to fans to photograph. After YouTuber BO3OMAR22 purportedly mimicked Messi’s 2022 World Cup posture, the visit became controversial. After Argentina beat the Netherlands, Messi cupped his ears for Louis van Gaal.

The club fiercely denounced the event as a disrespect to Ronaldo. The behavior was condemned by Al-Nassr, which has traditionally had an open-door policy for guests, fans, and lovers. However, the dressing room activities at First Park Stadium are unacceptable by those who disrespect our club’s principles and prestigious environment.”

The statement added, “We are taking immediate steps through our internal departments to address this issue and protect the club’s integrity. Fans are welcome to use our facilities as long as they behave respectfully at Al-Nassr.”

After the controversy, the fan apologized. The YouTuber apologized on social media, “I apologize if the photo bothered anyone. I made a joke and understand my mistake.” Under media and fan pressure, the apology was issued.

Cristiano Ronaldo, who missed Al-Nassr’s 1-1 AFC Champions League game with Al Shorta due to illness, is likely to return soon. The team is ready for Friday’s Pro League match against Steven Gerrard’s Al-Ettifaq. Ronaldo is expected to return after recovering from the sickness that incapacitated him.

Even in less obvious clashes, Messi and Ronaldo fans are still at odds. Al-Nassr is focused on keeping its reputation and preserving the club’s welcoming image as it manages the aftermath.
